Pete Wentz & The Future of Fall Out Boy

Back in November, Fall Out Boy announced their indefinite hiatus… and now things have gotten, well, much more indefinite.

Pete Wentz wrote on his blog (PeteWentz.com) that despite the fact that there is no bad blood between the band members, he doesn’t “know the future of Fall Out Boy. As far as I know Fall Out Boy is on a break. As much as I don’t have a solo project, I also can’t predict that I’d ever play in Fall Out Boy again.”

Can this be true? This is exactly what I’ve been hoping for! No more Fall Out Boy ever again! Pete also went on to say that this was “not due to personal relationships as much as a band we grew apart. In this statement I’d like to include there is the possibility that FOB will play again without me or I will be a part of it when everyone is on the same page.”

Damn, that sounds too hopeful for me. Frontman Patrick Stump told Spin.com that he thinks the band will be back in one form or another in the future. “I’m not in FOB right now, but one way or another, the band will always be around in some form. Whether we play again or not, I don’t know. If we do, it will be for the right reasons. If we don’t, it will also be for the right reasons.”

So there you have it. Hopefully this won’t reach an Aerosmith level of confusion. In all seriousness, FOB isn’t that bad and have more than a few decent tracks. They are just such an easy target to make fun of. Hopefully they get everything worked out on their break and if they decide to come back, they’ve got more than a few fans awaiting the return.
