Aerosmith and ZZ Top have officially announced the tour dates for their upcoming summer tour.

The tour begins on June 10th in St. Louis and is currently scheduled to run through September 16th in Detroit. Dates have been announced but the venues have not, and more shows are planned to be announced.

According to Billboard.com, Joe Perry is excited about working with ZZ Top:

“To have to follow them is gonna be a mouthful every night… and I know it’s gonna kick us into overdrive. That sounds like a cliche, but when you play with a band like that…we’ll be out listening a lot ’cause I love them. I always have. And I love Billy (Gibbon)’s playing. So we’ve got our work cut out for us, and the audience gets the benefit.”

Billboard also divulges that the group has “around 40 dates on the books” and their is a possibility of the tour going to South America, Europe and possibly Japan.

Aerosmith has been working on their latest album, a follow up to 2004′s “Honkin’ On Bobo”, but they have delayed work on the album to prepare for the tour. Here are the dates that have been announced:
