Rolling Stone is reporting that artists and songs featured in the upcoming Guitar Hero 5 are starting to leak out. Confirmed artists so far include:
Queen & David Bowie, Kings of Leon, Santana, Sonic Youth, A Perfect Circle, Weezer, Bon Jovi, Billy Idol, Elliott Smith, Bronx, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash, Tom Petty, the White Stripes, Blur, Blink-182, Kiss, Band of Horses and Iron Maiden.
It’s certainly starting to be impressive, but many bloggers and video game fans feel that the franchise is being run into the ground head first just for money’s sake.
Scheduled to come out this year also include: Guitar Hero: Smash Hits, Guitar Hero: Van Halen, Guitar Hero: On Tour; Modern Hits and another game called Band Hero. Too many games for sure, let’s just hope they don’t really kill the franchise by over-saturating the market.
Guitar Hero 5 is set to release September 1st on all platforms. We’ll keep you updated as more artists and songs are revealed.
